Let’s Show Our Pride!
Friday, June 10
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds, 7:15pm

We hope everyone will join us to celebrate Pride at the baseball game! With every Pride Night ticket purchase, PFLAG Greater St. Louis will receive a donation from the Cardinals. PFLAG has 2 tickets left in a block for those who want to sit together with other PFLAGers. They are located in the First Base Terrace and are available first-come, first-serve at our cost. See below to order tickets. Please contact Emily Henze at emily.henze@gmail.com for more information including assistance with ticket costs for those who might need it.

Last but not least, everyone is invited to join us for a pre-game gathering near the stadium. More details to come so watch for future announcements.

Mental Health Awareness

Mental health is a key component to supporting our LGBTQ+ loved ones, and with May being Mental Health Awareness month it felt even more important to highlight this. If you, or someone you know identifies as LGBTQ+ and needs further support for mental illness, reach out to us for support or mental health resources, come to a support group meeting, or check out these LGBTQ+ affirming mental health resources:

The Trevor Project (they offer a 24/7 support via phone, text, online messaging).

National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network

Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) (resources for students and educators to make schools safer for LGBTQ+ individuals)

Human Rights Campaign (resources around coming out, mental health broadly, and resources for counselors, educators, and social workers to support LGBTQ+ individuals)

LGBTQIA+ Community Coalition

A group of community members are organizing to support LGBTQIA+ youth in both Jefferson and St. Louis County specifically related to our education system. Their goal is to ensure that our schools are educated and able to create learning communities that all our students deserve. They are organizing a group of individuals who will work to educate and support those who serve our LGBTQIA+ youth in both Jefferson and St. Louis County.

The coalition, and us as PFLAG, want to affirm and love these individuals and we feel the need more than ever for education around best practices in serving LGBTQIA+ young people.

The first coalition meeting is on Thursday, June 2nd from 6-8:30pm at the Arnold location of Weber’s Front Row restaurant. Let’s show up PFLAG! Please RSVP to one of the emails below or contact them with any questions!

Join Us at Pride!

We are going to show up to the PRIDE St. Louis Grand Parade in a big way. Will you join us?! We want the STL world to know that PFLAG is strong and working, and we need you in order to do that.

Mark your calendars for June 18th from noon-8pm and join us at Pride St. Charles! Reach out to us if you can volunteer at our table.

Mark you calendars also for June 26 at 10:30 am and come march/dance/celebrate with us at the Grand Parade. We gather at 10th and Market in downtown St. Louis.

And what better way to make your presence known during Pride than with one of our new PFLAG shirts! If you are wanting them for Pride, order soon!

Equity Fair!

PFLAG Greater St. Louis recently hosted a table at the March for Education and Equity Fair, and how wonderful it was to make so many connections! We were honored to be in the space with people doing amazing work supporting our LGBTQ+ kids, and look forward to doing some of that work going forward together!
